Ms. Frizzle

vs. Ms. Jones

Ms. Frizzle of the Magic School Bus always took her students on the most elaborate field trips that brought learning to life.  On the contrary, Ms. Jones has limited rsources for field trips as she devotes all of her attention to student succes on standardized tests.  She knows her job and reputation as a teacher are on the line.

In spite of her limitations, Ms. Jones does her best each day to submerge the students in learning by mostly role-playing activities.  For example, she creates funny skits about historic events and allows the students to volunteer for parts.

Ms. Jones loves her students, yet focuses on testing prepration materials.  She is still learning to maintain a balance.
